1.2 System Requirements

a. Microsoft's DirectX 8.1 or higher must be installed.
b. You must have a 3D video card installed that supports DirectX 8.1 or higher.
c. RC-AirSim v1.0 works with Microsoft Windows 98, 98se, ME, 2000, and XP.
d. Close ALL other programs when running RC-AirSim for best performance.

1.3 Aircraft

Select an aircraft from the aircraft list.

In the Demo Version the following 3 aircraft are available to fly:

 -Back 40 Trainer
 -Modelair-Tech Slowmowatt
 -Double Helix

In the Registered Version all aircraft are available to fly.

1.4 Graphics

RC-AirSim automatically detects your video card and displays its name.

Select your full screen resolution from the list. The default resolution is 640x480. Increase your resolution to improve the graphics of RC-AirSim.

Increasing resolution improves graphics but may degrade simulation performance and stability. Find a balance between better graphics and acceptable performance for your computer. Low end machines will need to run in 640x480x16 resolution.

Tip: If your computer and video card are fast enough, use your current desktop screen resolution as RC-AirSim's full screen resolution. This will give quick transitions between Settings Mode and Simulation Mode.

1.5 Controls

"Calibrate Controller" Button

Clicking the "Calibrate Controller" button opens the Windows Game Controller Tool that is found in the Windows Control Panel. Use this to calibrate your joystick/controller.

"Re-Map Joystick Controls or Keyboard Keys" Button

Clicking the "Re-Map Joystick Controls or Keyboard Keys" button opens the Controller Action Mapping window. Follow the on-screen directions to set the Aileron, Elevator, Rudder, and Throttle Actions to specific axis or slider controls on your joystick or controller.
